Winner of Italian Formula 4 and new Red Bull Junior Driver. Who is 17 year old driver? What are his hopes for the future?
Kacper was born on 29th of January 2006 in Cieszyn in the southern part of Poland. His journey with motorsport like for many others began with karting when he was 4 years old. He raced in many different countries around Europe in various classes including OK-Junior. He had his first F4 tests in 2019 at only 13 years old. He caught the eye of many F4 teams and debuted in Italian Formula 4 on 16th of may 2021 as youngest polish driver ever debuting in this series.
In the 2022 season he moved to US racing team and stood on the podium four times, twice taking first place. At the end of the 2022 season many F3 teams showed their interest in having him as their driver but his debut in that series had to be postponed because of financial difficulties. He also raced in 5 races in German F4 finishing twice as a runner up.
2023 season Kacper started with racing in first season of Formula Winter series. He secured the title for himself by winning five out of first six races and didn’t raced in other two. Winning first title in his career.
Kacper started the 2023 Italian Formula 4 season with a victory at Imola Circuit. After that he did not finish the other two races because of car failure. After facing some struggles he came back strongly in fifth round at French Paul Ricard he won all three races one starting from pole position. He continued strike with another three wins at Mugello taking the lead in the driver championship from Arvid Lindblad. He secured the title after taking third place in the second race at Vallelunga. He ended the season with 9 victories, 9 pole positions and 8 fastest laps. He is the first Polish driver to win the Italian F4 championship.
In late October Kacper had his first F3 tests for MP motorsport at Imola circuit. He says that there is quite a big difference for him between F4 and F3 cars but that he could feel that he improves with every session. After a good performance he feels like he might have a chance for a seat in F3 for the 2024 season.
Kacper was announced as the new driver of Red Bull Junior Driver Program in November. Becoming a part of this program is a huge step for Polish driver and will most certainly help with career development as it comes with sponsorships and recognition.
On January 19th as many awaited MP Motorsport announced Kacper as their driver for 2024 FIA Formula 3 season. Taking another step towards making the dream come true.
