Iron Dames Announce García and Pin for 2024 FRECA Campaign

Earlier this week, all-female sports project the Iron Dames announced they would be joining the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) for the 2024 season.

After recent success in multiple motorsports series including IMSA GT Class, WEC, ELMS, and F1 Academy, the Iron Dames today revealed they will be participating in FRECA for the 2024 season. The Iron Dames cars will be driven by Doraine Pin and Marta Garcia, who recently joined the programme after becoming the inaugural F1 Academy Champion.

Pin, who currently races with the Iron Dames in F1 Academy, WEC, and IMSA, made her single-seater debut in 2023, racing in Formula 4 SEA. The French driver competed in the final two rounds of the championship, taking one win and three podiums to finish second in the standings. Doriane has since continued to gain as much single-seater experience as possible, coming 10th in the 2024 Formula Regional UAE championship and winning the first race of F1 Academy this season in dominant fashion. Racing in FRECA this year sees Pin take another step up the ladder of single-seater racing and progress towards competing at an even higher level of motorsports.

Marta Garcia will make her debut with the Iron Dames after a promising career in single-seaters so far. Garcia was a consistent points scorer in Spanish F4 2017, is a race winner in the W series, and became F1 Academy Champion with Prema Racing in 2023, earning her a fully-funded FRECA place. The Spanish driver was previously announced to drive for Prema this season, however this news means she’ll make a switch to the Iron Dames and drive in the project’s iconic magenta.

The FRECA season kicks off on the 12th of May at Hockenheim and continues until October, racing at 10 iconic Formula 1 circuits. It will be incredible to see how Marta and Doriane perform and follow their careers into the future.
