Madrid set to host the Spanish grand prix








News today is that  the Spanish Grand Prix will be held in Madrid from the 2026 season to the 2035 season as of right now. So what do we know so far? We know that it will be held on a brand new circuit and that it will be made up of both street and non street sections around the IFEMA Exhibition centre. The track will have 20 turns and its total length is 5.474 metres and its current projected lap time is 1 minute and 32 seconds. It is predicted that across the grandstands, general admission and the VIP hospitality the venue will host more than 110,000 fans per day. However there are plans to grow the capacity of the circuit to 140,000 per day possibly making Madrid one of F1’s largest venue on the calendar. This grand prix will be one of the more accessible races as it is located 5 minutes away from the airport. It is estimated that 90% of fans will be able to get to the paddock via local transport and the fans staying in the local accommodation will be able to walk to the circuit. In addition to the grand prix, fan activities will be taking place in downtown Madrid.
